Short haul modem for communicating RS232 across two twisted pairs of 24-26 AWG unshielded telephone cable, insulated by polyethylene with a mutual capacitance of 0.083 mfd/mile. Transmission distance up to 4 miles (6.4 km) at 2400 baud or 1 mile (1.6 km) at 19,200 baud are achievable using specified wire. Requires two SHM-B-ASYNC, one at each end.Transformer included. Dimensions: 1.4" H x 4.25" W x 4.5" D (3.8 cm H x 10.9 cm W x 11.7 cm D).
